L. L. Walker was the the first Houstonian to fly an airplane. He is hidden by a wing and sits at the controls of a Bleriot type airplane of his own design. Seven unidentified men also stand around the plane. This photograph was taken at the start of Walker's attempt to fly to Galveston late in 1910, Walker only reached La Marque, Texas on that trip.
