  • Description of this item from 2012 University of Houston Libraries exhibition, "DJ Screw and the Rise of Houston Hip Hop": Rappers and friends who ordered a mixtape from DJ Screw would prepare a list of the songs that they wanted "chopped and screwed" for their own personal tape. This screw tape list for "Steve" (possibly late rapper Big Steve of Woss Ness) included tracks by local artists Big Pokey, C-Note, Geto Boys, Southside Playaz, and Lil' O. On some pages, phone numbers have been digitally altered to protect owners' privacy.
