Which I understood to\r\nmean no if it ment any-\r\nthing.\r\n-------------------------------------------\r\n[written upside down across top of the two inner pages]\r\n\r\nI have read with interest all the doings at the Fair, how\r\nmuch I would have enjoyed seeing Mrs Long - poor Sam was\r\ndisappointed too\r\n-----------------------------------------------------------------------------\r\nSam said to me last winter\r\nthat he only wanted about fifty\r\nacres. I could give you a correct\r\nidea of the shape of Sams piece\r\nif I could see you. I have thought\r\nin case a sale could be made\r\nSam would have to go down\r\n\u0026amp; mark off what he wants\r\nand then the balance could\r\nbe surveyed.  I would think\r\n25.00 a good price for what\r\nwould be left, don’t know\r\nwhether you included all\r\nor made your estimate in\r\n-cluding what Sam wants\r\n \r\nI have no idea who wants the\r\nplace, \u0026amp; feel at a loss what to\r\nsay to Mr Gaillard unless it is\r\nto refer him to you hereafter\r\nin regard to the matter.  I have\r\nnot yet replied to his query\r\n-------------------------------------------\r\nAs Gaston is down there\r\nnow, have thought most\r\nlikely I would hear some\r\nthing more definite when\r\nhe returned, which will\r\nbe some time this week\r\nIn case I get anything either\r\nfavorable or otherwise I will\r\nlet you know at once\r\nI think Mr West who wanted bargened to\r\npurchase my stock is playing\r\nsome double game from the\r\nwhat Mr Gaillaird wrote\r\nme in a second letter which\r\ncame here last week \u0026amp; at once\r\nI replied to it \u0026amp; requested\r\nGaston to look into the\r\nmatter and get everything\r\nwith Mr West.  Mr West it\r\nseems sent parties and took\r\n----------------------------------------\r\noff nine head of cattle \u0026amp; three weeks\r\nafter this come back at Mr G’s\r\nearnest request  I looked for\r\nthe balance but no more\r\ncould be found.  I had written\r\nto Mr W and said to him that\r\nMr G would count \u0026amp; deliver\r\nmy cattle to him \u0026amp;c \u0026amp;c  I think\r\nhe has got himself into troub\r\nle by taking the cattle away\r\nin Mr. Gaillaird[‘s] absence\r\nJack McCue said there\r\nwere twenty head,  his mother\r\ntold me this when I was down\r\nthere this spring.  I am hoping\r\nGaston will get the matter\r\nlooked into\r\n\r\nElliot is still improving all\r\nwell.
