I do not eat any vegetables, or\nanything, calculated to disagree with\nme in any way - My appetite does not\ncrave everything as is usual when ones bow\n-els are out of order - Sallie has plenty of \nmilk so I eat bread \u0026amp; milk mostly\nWe found Gaston at home and broken \ndown with hard work as sometimes he has \nto drive a team hauling when suddenly\na driver leaves. I think the tie business\nis a hard way to make a living partic-\nularly for one is his condition - as there\nare often times he has to lift and that\nbrings on severe pain.  He seems hopeful \nthat it will pay better now that they\nhave teams \u0026amp; outfit generally all paid\nfor.  Sallie is looking better than I\nexpected to find her  But her babie [sic]\nis not well at all which gives\nher worrie [sic].\n\nI sent the $5.00 dol to Mr J by\nCharlie yesterday - but he returned it\n---------------------------------------------------\nas he said he had drawn on Sam\nfor that much - so I have it.  Tell\nSam so.\n\nElliot is now stud[y]ing well\nhe asked me to tell you \u0026amp; his Pa\nthat he had done six sums every day\nand today is studying the tables - He\nreads \u0026amp; spells - But says he cant\nwrite good enough to write a letter\nNellie took the floore [sic] Sunday \u0026amp; I\nthink told them all she had seen\nand heard during her stay in Houston\nMrs. Jordan \u0026amp; Miss Mary were here all\nday together with Gas \u0026amp; Charlie it was\na regular Ashe Hubbub all day\nwhich you know is delightful to one\nwith nervious [sic] headache.  I was so\nglad when night came\n\nI hope to hear\nfrom home today.  Tell Sam to write\nto Ell \u0026amp; me  Let me know how my \nlittle chickens are getting along.\nTell Ara I am thinking of home and\nwonder how she gets along\n\nYour Mother\nMary Jones\n\nSeveral Papers came yesterday to Sallie\nshe will read them to me today I have\nnot seen any of the Willisites yet except\nShep Grove.
