We have heard that\nMr. Sydnors residence was washed away also\nI am hoping that it is not so bad as reported, oh\nhow sad it is at best.  I did nothing all day Friday\nbut watch the fury of the storm.  Mr Sandals black-\nsmith shop blew over about 4 Oclock \u0026amp; many trees\nfell all round us in sight, but the wind blew\nthose near us from our house so we were not harmed\n--------------------------------------------------------------------\nI know you will give me full particulars\n I have this day written to Sam but so not\nknow if there is any place at the \"Burg\" for\nletters to be received if not my letter will\nbe returned to me   Some one counted 10 trees\nacross the road in going half a mile, never\nwas such devastation seen it is thought one third\nof all the Timber is down  Gaston came up from\nhis place Tuesday said he could not have found\nhis way along had to have a guide.  Write to\nSam will you lest my letter does not get \nto him.  Baby \u0026amp; I are very well, so are all the\nfamily.  Charles has an eye much inflamed\nwe thought it usual sore eyes, but as yet\nonly one is effected [sic] today he it is better.
