I did not\r\nfeel like writing yesterday - indeed I had nothing\r\nof interest to communicate, as Sallie continued about the\r\nsame up to [to]night - She had but the one chill\r\nand fever,  but not until yesterday morning did\r\nthat severe pain in her left side \u0026amp; back dis-\r\nappear entirely - Then sore throat with some\r\ncough and hoarseness made its appearance\r\nmaking her feel very badly all night.  This\r\nmorning she seems much better tho depressed\r\nin spirits from these unlooked for afflictions\r\none after an other - after having such reason-\r\nable prospect of soon being up as she had three\r\nweeks ago - She has not set up any since\r\nMonday last - will be able to get up again\r\ntomorrow if no new trouble does not appear\r\nThe doctors say her attack has been caused by\r\na torpid liver,  and is partly a bilious attack\r\ncombined with cold. I am having\r\nsuch a nice time.  Have so much nice\r\nbutter milk \u0026amp; sweet mild.  I wish every\r\nday you had some.  The butter milk is\r\nfrozen through.  I think of you all the\r\ntime.  You must not frolic with the girls.\r\nYou may take Aunt Maissey, but no\r\none else to the theatre.  I met Mr Archer\r\nfrom Houston on the train \u0026amp; he tried\r\nto get me to be his sweetheart.  I told\r\nhim I couldn’t give Crommie up for\r\nno any other gentleman.  I am going\r\nto start to Ark tomorrow week \u0026amp; then\r\nback to Tex when you will I will see\r\nyou.  Mama is not well.  She has such\r\na bad cold.  Tell Aunt Maissey this\r\nletter will have to do for her too.\r\nMama wrote to her \u0026amp; must only\r\nwrite to Crommie.  Tell El. Bubbee says\r\nhe is coming back soon \u0026amp; he must\r\ncome up to his house.  You must write\r\nas soon as you get this.  Direct your\r\nletter to Marianna, care Uncle M[___].\r\nMy love to Papa.  I want to see\r\nhim mighty bad.
