Gaston thinks in case\nhe gets the appointment of Sheriff that it will\nbe more to his interest to live at Montgomery\nthan at this place.  And has urged me to re\nmain with them until something definite\nis determined upon\n\nDunn is trying to make\nup his bond.  Mr. Willber Sandal Brother of\nMunrow Sandal has agreed to take the app-\nointment Collector of Taxes under Dunn and\nis helping him to make up a bond!!!!\nAnd there will be found many other just\nsuch democrats I fear, tho Gaston seems \nto think Dunn will be unable to make up the\namount even by getting it in small sums here,\nand there, as we learn he is doing\n  \nMrs. Jordan\nasked me to enquire of you whether the Co.\nor District Clerks did not have to employ\nsomeone to Copy for them sometimes, and\nif so would you use your influence in\n----------------------------------------------------------\nprocuring some employment of this kind\nfor Mary Ashe.  she said of course the sug-\ngestion would have to be made to Mrs. Ashe\nYou understand\n\n\nI do hope you will be able to get\nthe expander for Gas,  As I am doubly interested\nMr Wiggins has about ten or twelve bales\nof Cotton now in the Gin,  and his paying\nfor this place is depending upon it \u0026amp; also\nto remove Bells Claim.  Now if the Gin was\nto be burned down \u0026amp; he lose his cotton I would\nlose my trade with Wiggins.  This may seem\nfar fetched as we sometimes say, and going\nout of the way to hunt up trouble, be it\nso.   I wish very much to have see Mr. Ws\nCotton gined \u0026amp; sold.  And beside what is\nalready in the Gin he will bring several\nbales more if what is now here can gined\nso will others bring Cotton\n\nIf it will not be too \nmuch trouble please bring me a pair\nof black kid gloves No 71/2  I cannot get a \nGlove here of any kind.  Black silk would \ndo as well \u0026amp; perhaps better too as they will\nstretch, if of a good quality.\n\nAffectionately Your Mother\nMary Jones"],"sequences":[{"@type":"sc:Sequence","@id":"https://digitalcollections.lib.uh.edu/concern/texts/3f462561b/manifest/sequence/normal","rendering":[],"canvases":[{"@type":"sc:Canvas","@id":"https://digitalcollections.lib.uh.edu/concern/texts/3f462561b/manifest/canvas/hm50tr93z","label":"uhlib_1970_003_do66214p586_0001.tif","width":640,"height":480,"images":[{"@type":"oa:Annotation","motivation":"sc:painting","resource":{"@type":"dctypes:Image","@id":"https://media.lib.uh.edu/images/hm50tr93z%2Ffiles%2F9840ffe7-8442-42d2-b479-3073b0b1ee6f/full/600,/0/default.jpg","height":480,"width":640,"format":null,"service":{"@context":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/context.json","@id":"https://media.lib.uh.edu/images/hm50tr93z%2Ffiles%2F9840ffe7-8442-42d2-b479-3073b0b1ee6f","profile":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/level2.json"}},"on":"https://digitalcollections.lib.uh.edu/concern/texts/3f462561b/manifest/canvas/hm50tr93z"}]},{"@type":"sc:Canvas","@id":"https://digitalcollections.lib.uh.edu/concern/texts/3f462561b/manifest/canvas/6108vb53s","label":"uhlib_1970_003_do66214p586_0002.tif","width":640,"height":480,"images":[{"@type":"oa:Annotation","motivation":"sc:painting","resource":{"@type":"dctypes:Image","@id":"https://media.lib.uh.edu/images/6108vb53s%2Ffiles%2F2662b18c-150f-4fbf-a070-ee735c8d2219/full/600,/0/default.jpg","height":480,"width":640,"format":null,"service":{"@context":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/context.json","@id":"https://media.lib.uh.edu/images/6108vb53s%2Ffiles%2F2662b18c-150f-4fbf-a070-ee735c8d2219","profile":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/level2.json"}},"on":"https://digitalcollections.lib.uh.edu/concern/texts/3f462561b/manifest/canvas/6108vb53s"}]}]}]}
