We have not seen\nGaston since last Thursday week, he is\ngoing over the County again.  See Mr\nAshe and let him know what is going\non in this County.  I wish he was here \ntoday - for realy I do feel very sad at\nthe prospect ahead. God help us is my\nprayer\n---------------------------------------------------\nI had just written you a note when on my own matters\nwhen I heard of these officers going over\nto Montgomery.  I hope I am not a natural \nborn Coward.  But my blood ceased to cer-\nculate for a time after hearing of the \ndemonstration that is to be made today at\nMontgomery  again I pray Gods aid for our \ndear ones\n\nAffectionately Your Mother\nMary Jones\n\nAs I have tried to say in the enclosed note\nI have no \u0026amp; will not make any definite\narrangement for winter quarters until I\nsee or hear fully from you  MJ.  \n\n[Second letter enclosed with same date but no year]\n\nWillis Oct 25th\n\nDear Son\n\nI have found a very nice\nwell furnished comfortable house\nto rent down in Montgomery St\nit is the fifth house from Judge\nLewiss place coming this way,\nthat is toward the Rail Road\nI went into it, and found it nice\nand comfortable, two rooms are\nPapered, it has two nice brick\nChimneys, well of good water\nKitchen \u0026amp;c all under the same\nroof.  Mr. Jaycopes has the renting\nof it as it belongs to a little Boy\nfor whom he is Guardian\n\nI have mere\nly mentioned this to you as I will \nbe obliged to make some change\nvery soon.  And know of no place\nthat would suit me better for \na place to pass the winter, as\nit is joined all round by good people\n-----------------------------------------------\nthat is, it is in a good neighborhood \nMr.  Jaycope told me this morning\nthat so soon as the County Court took\naction upon the estate of of which\nhe was appointed executor \u0026amp; guar\ndian of the child \u0026amp; his interests\nthat he would be able to give me\nan answer provided I wanted\nthe place.  Montgomery Co. Court\nmeets next Monday week.  But he \nappeared unwilling to rent for a few\nmonths, as the place has an Acre\nof ground inclosed with a good \npicket fence.  And he appeared\nto think it would rent readily\nby the year, his price is ($10.)\nten dollars pr. month, which\nI think is very high.
