Today I feel much better tho\nnot strong.  This dry warm weather\ndoes not agree with me altogether\nI had received a letter from Sam of the\n1st of March containing about what\nhe had written you.  With one of \nthe cards of invitation \u0026amp; a Photograph\nlikeness of himself.  He said in his\nlast that he would write me again\nbefore leaving.  I supposed Sam would \ncome here, not to Houston tho he has\nnot said which way he would come but\nthought he would come on the Great Northern\n---------------------------------------------------------\ntrain.  I shall be glad to see him, and\nmany here are saving work for him\nI shall for one have a job ready.  Elliot\nhas had terrible attack of toothache\nwith his face so swollen that one of his\neyes was almost closed it lasted a\nweek.   My Garden looks well\nthough many seed have not come\nup want of rain, to make things\ngrow.  I had a mess of boiled Greens\nfrom my garden today which I rel-\nished very much after being without\nanything in the form of a vegitable\nnow over four weeks.  My Peas are in \nBloom, Lettuce mustard \u0026amp; shallots will\nbe large enough to use very soon\n\nIf you do not come up very soon please\nsend me a little more money by \nTomorrow or next days mail. I have\nforgotten I believe to acknowledge the rest\nof Ell's valentine[e] which pleased him very\nmuch.
