I found Mrs Ashe quite sick, but\r\nsome better than she had was when I was sent for\r\nThis morning (Friday) she is very much better\r\nbut still in a condition that requires careful\r\nnursing to ensure her recovery   The Boy is do-\r\ning well, and of course is the greatest Boy of \r\nthe season  Name (John B Ashe)\r\n\r\n“Sis” and Gaston rea\r\nched home last Sunday after dark she was suffering\r\nvery much with tooth ache up to the day I left\r\nwill have it taken out I suppose, hope it is done be-\r\nfore this\r\n--------------------------------------------------------------------\r\n[letter continues on page 3]\t\r\n\r\nTo my surprise I found Doct.  J. in attendance  \r\nall very much pleased with his treatment so far\r\nand I do earnestly hope he will be entirely successful\r\nI shall remain here now until after Jennie is\r\nthough her trouble which will prolong my\r\nstay until near the last of April. So until\r\nfurther advised direct to me here care of your\r\nBrother.  I regret being from home so long as I\r\nhad become so much interested in the Garden and\r\nhelping Sis to with raising chickens, two things\r\nI enjoy very much.  We have changed things round\r\nat home until it begins to look better to say the\r\nleast of it.   Mr Sydmon has received a letter\r\nfrom H M Trueheart in regard to a plan for\r\neffecting a final settlement of the Clear Creek\r\nland, which letter was to be shown to me by Mr\r\nTruehearts request. I will if possible copy \r\nit and send copy inclosed in this  to you  do \r\nyou think you are sufficiently posted  up \r\nin the matter to take charge of it entirely\r\nif so I will request Mr. T to confer with you\r\nhereafter in place of me.  I can but think\r\nif the matter is liked after we may get our\r\nmoney back if nothing more, and I would\r\n-----------------------------------------------------------\r\nbe thankful to know we could do that well\r\nas it now stands. And I propose selling under the Deed of \r\ntrust assigned to me by Allen \u0026amp; which covers all of Col An-\r\ndrews interest \u0026amp; part of yours.  Before doing so I wish to get\r\nMrs Allen \u0026amp; Andrews together with a view of effecting a\r\ncompromise if possible.   Andrews owes Mrs A enough to\r\npay balance due on purchase money \u0026amp; balance due me \u0026amp; I\r\nthink she will make liberal terms with him \u0026amp; in\r\nthat event I am in favor of buying a League or league \u0026amp; a half\r\nand covering up this matter and setting it forever.  We can\r\nbuy a certificate or certificates at 30 to 36 pr Acre.\r\n\r\nAfter reading this please forward to Mrs. Anson Jones.\r\nIt is desirable we should all act together.
