  • Copy of a letter to Mayor Oscar F. Holcombe, County Judge W. H. Ward, City Commissioners D. Barker, Allie Anderson, S. A. Starkey, James H. B. House, and County Commissioners William Tautenheim, Ben Reinecke, C. D. Massey, and J. A. Walling from J. Y. Powell concerning a resolution adopted by the Advisory Committee of the Houston Negro Hospital. The committee does not feel the hospital should be "scrapped," especially because doing so would still require the construction of a hospital with public funds.
