A few days\r\nbefore I came it had rained enough to lay the \r\ndust - What is to become of our dried up\r\ncountry .  I feel like I had better be saving\r\nmoney to go to Egypt to buy bread with\r\nHow often I think these things - We have no\r\nVegitable [sic] or fruit here, that is but very [word(s) lacking]\r\nand that is mostly canned fruit\r\n------------------------------------------------------------\r\nMelons sell high  Figs sell at five cts. pr do\r\n-zen, Milk a dime a quart, We get some butter\r\nmilk for dinner and sometimes sweet milk\r\nTomatoes sell three large ones for a quarter\r\nIt its too warm to write as no breeze comes \r\nthrough our tear of rooms\r\n\r\nDirect to care of Sour Lake Hotel\r\nas I do not know yet who will be \r\nput in charge   Stanly has had\r\ncharge but is not here now\r\n\r\nYours in love\r\nMary Jones\r\n\r\nI think two weeks here will answer my \r\npurpose, or at any rate I don’t feel that \r\nI can stay any longer"],"sequences":[{"@type":"sc:Sequence","@id":"https://digitalcollections.lib.uh.edu/concern/texts/ff3655567/manifest/sequence/normal","rendering":[],"canvases":[{"@type":"sc:Canvas","@id":"https://digitalcollections.lib.uh.edu/concern/texts/ff3655567/manifest/canvas/12579s52q","label":"uhlib_1970_003_do82257g37s_0001.tif","width":640,"height":480,"images":[{"@type":"oa:Annotation","motivation":"sc:painting","resource":{"@type":"dctypes:Image","@id":"https://media.lib.uh.edu/images/12579s52q%2Ffiles%2F22c931c9-4647-4110-8586-524e4b4b55b9/full/600,/0/default.jpg","height":480,"width":640,"format":null,"service":{"@context":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/context.json","@id":"https://media.lib.uh.edu/images/12579s52q%2Ffiles%2F22c931c9-4647-4110-8586-524e4b4b55b9","profile":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/level2.json"}},"on":"https://digitalcollections.lib.uh.edu/concern/texts/ff3655567/manifest/canvas/12579s52q"}]},{"@type":"sc:Canvas","@id":"https://digitalcollections.lib.uh.edu/concern/texts/ff3655567/manifest/canvas/p8418n45f","label":"uhlib_1970_003_do82257g37s_0002.tif","width":640,"height":480,"images":[{"@type":"oa:Annotation","motivation":"sc:painting","resource":{"@type":"dctypes:Image","@id":"https://media.lib.uh.edu/images/p8418n45f%2Ffiles%2F95438cbe-014d-4fe9-89db-9915116fa702/full/600,/0/default.jpg","height":480,"width":640,"format":null,"service":{"@context":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/context.json","@id":"https://media.lib.uh.edu/images/p8418n45f%2Ffiles%2F95438cbe-014d-4fe9-89db-9915116fa702","profile":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/level2.json"}},"on":"https://digitalcollections.lib.uh.edu/concern/texts/ff3655567/manifest/canvas/p8418n45f"}]},{"@type":"sc:Canvas","@id":"https://digitalcollections.lib.uh.edu/concern/texts/ff3655567/manifest/canvas/qz20ss708","label":"uhlib_1970_003_do82257g37s_0003.tif","width":640,"height":480,"images":[{"@type":"oa:Annotation","motivation":"sc:painting","resource":{"@type":"dctypes:Image","@id":"https://media.lib.uh.edu/images/qz20ss708%2Ffiles%2Fad81d6b1-2a73-4c77-8273-87aaa91b8691/full/600,/0/default.jpg","height":480,"width":640,"format":null,"service":{"@context":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/context.json","@id":"https://media.lib.uh.edu/images/qz20ss708%2Ffiles%2Fad81d6b1-2a73-4c77-8273-87aaa91b8691","profile":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/level2.json"}},"on":"https://digitalcollections.lib.uh.edu/concern/texts/ff3655567/manifest/canvas/qz20ss708"}]}]}]}
