Old Head\nQuarters has passed out of our possession.\nI have read with interest the Brenham Sentinel \u0026amp; also\nthe Telephone, particularly the communication upon\nthe subject of the County Judges office. It is a\ngood article full of good sense, and good reasoning\nI trust the [   ]ted wisdom of one State will\nlet well enough alone just at this time.\nI received a letter form Sam of Jany 28th  he \nseems anxious to get back to Texas, he says\n“The time moves mighty slow to me now as I near\nthe end, although I have had a very pleasent, as \nwell as profitable stay here, “But there is no\nplace like home”  I think Sam will enjoy\ngetting back to Texas .  I have planted Irish po-\n-tatoes, onions shalotts cabbage mustard lettuce\nand peas.  A negro plowed up the ground \u0026amp; done the\nplanting for me.  Mr. Jaycope came up with\ntwo hands \u0026amp; repaired up the fince, and told\nme that soon he would send up \u0026amp; do some other\nwork to on the plan which is needed.   I have\n-------------------------------------------------------------\nnot paid him yet the months rent, an[d]\nwaiting to give him time to qualify\nLast evening I bought six more hens.
