Well we are about as far ahead getting\nthings to straightened as when you were here.  Both\nSallie \u0026amp; Elliot have been sick with colds\nboth are now better.  Gaston has not bee able\nto finish moving on account of a swelling \non one of his horses shoulder, has got a mule\nnow \u0026amp; will go our there tomorow for some more\nof our things and after that [is] done will bring in\nhis cows\n--------------------------------------------------------------\nMr. Irving has sold his place to Mr Jobe Tomison\nJun, who only purchased it to sell again.  And\nGaston is trying to purchase it of Tomison as there is a gin\nhouse and Tank already and a pretty fair dwell\n-ing house orchard \u0026amp; garden, it is the place\nyou pass just beyond the Saloon on the road\ngoing our to Mr, Goldings. We all wish so much\nhe could get it.  Mr Irving told Gaston he ground\nfrom one hundred to one \u0026amp; fifty bushels of corn every week\nand that he Gined from two hundred to as high\nas four hundred bales of Cotton, owing to the\ncrop  If you can do so hurry up the sale of the \nBastrop land as every little [bit] will help him\nto raise  $4.50 dollars for the first payment  the\nother two payments he could make by ginning \u0026amp;\nselling corn, \u0026amp; meal.  I have offered to lend my\npart of the Bastrop sale, or rather a part of it, the \ninterest on the same to be applied for my living\ninstead of paying them money as now.
