I cannot realize the part that\r\nyou are so far from me, if I did I believe\r\nit would make me feel very sad.\r\nNotwith standing my anxiety for you \r\nto have an opportunity of visiting the\r\nFair and all other places of interest\r\nNorth where you will see so much\r\n\r\nYours of the 19th Inst, with the money\r\n$20 dollars inclosed and Map of Texas\r\ncame duly to hand. Also about the\r\nsame time a number of papers.\r\n\r\nThe evening of the day I\r\nwrote you the short \u0026amp; hurried note\r\njust to say all were well, we went\r\nover to Mr. Wiggins to spend the evening\r\nMet Sam near there \u0026amp; he went\r\n------------------------------------------------------\r\nback with us \u0026amp; spent the evening with us\r\nUpon our return at the Creek we all\r\nwere getting out of the waggon before\r\ncrossing, as the late rains had washed\r\nit so as to make it dangerous crossing\r\nAll were out of the waggon but myself\r\nwhen I raised up to jump out over\r\nat the hind end the horses made a\r\nspring forward throwing me out\r\non my head.  All thought the \r\nfall had killed me \u0026amp; so soon as \r\nI could think at all I fully expected\r\nthat the injuries would cause my \r\ndeath in the course of a few hours,\r\nor days, but strange to say no bones\r\nwere broken and I recovered from\r\nthe worst of the jar \u0026amp; bruises in a\r\nfew days so as to be up \u0026amp; now feel\r\nperfectly well.  Yet there is soreness\r\nin my neck \u0026amp; shoulders which I hope\r\nto recover from in time, had I fallen\r\non any thing hard such as stumps\r\nroots poles logs or any thing except\r\n---------------------------------------------------\r\nin the wagon rut in soft sand I\r\nwould have been killed instantly\r\nas ti was the skin was only broken\r\nover \u0026amp; around my left eye.  Sam carried\r\nme in his arms over the creek and\r\nplaced me in the waggon \u0026amp; held\r\nme up until we reached home\r\n\u0026amp; then he carried me into my room\r\nHow forcibly this sad accident reminded me that\r\nin the midst of life we are in the\r\nmidst of death also\r\n \r\nI hope you may have\r\na delightful trip.
