Mr. Ennis most likely could\nput you in correspondence with\nsome one in that Co. as his sisterinlaw\nMrs Merriwether lived in Lagrange\nyears ago.\n\t  My eyes have been very weak\nfor some time past so much so that\nI do not read or write, any.  And then\ntoo I have had nothing pleasant to write\nabout.  Elliot has been very sick is\nbarely able to walk alone now, for\ntwenty days he was in bed \u0026amp; part\nof the time very sick - he  is improvi\nng fast but is very thin \u0026amp; feeble\nmy own health strange so say after\nso much loss of sleep \u0026amp; fatigue is\ngood. We are here on dead expe\nnses and this makes me feel sad\nto be in such and unsettled state, do\nnot know what we can do, or where\nwe may go, or when we may have to\nmove again.  I am thinking of going\ndown to the old place shortly to\nlook after our interests there\nwish the place was sold so I could\nget a home some where that I could\nlive in quiet \u0026amp; comfort once\nmore - I will deliver you mes-\nsage to Sam  he is doing well and\nspoke of paying you some more money\nwhen you come down\n\nPlease send me a felt hat for Elloit\nno. 61/2 I think will fit him I want it for\nevery day ware so not a fine hat\nSam will pay you for it, the shoes\n\u0026amp; yarn when you come down\n\nAll well.
