Tell Sam I\r\nthought of him very often - Sunday\r\nlast Miranda took me to Moulton to\r\na Doct. to have it extracted but by the time\r\nwe got there the tooth had ceased to ache\r\nand the Doct. was not at home So I came\r\nback with my tooth .  It is still giving me\r\ntrouble tho not aching much. Tell\r\nSam all the folks here seem anxious\r\nto have him come out to see them.  And\r\nif he can come next week I will go home\r\nwith him   This is a buisy [sic] time with people\r\nhere gathering their Crops. Cotton pickers\r\nare asking a dollar pr. hundred. And at\r\nthat price  not much is made on raising\r\ncotton\r\n----------------------------------------------------\r\nas with us it has rained too much for cotton\r\nMy back is now better, tho at times it is sore\r\nand somewhat painful And I do not feel\r\nstrong although I have a good appetite\r\nwhich should give me strength - But strange\r\nto say it does not - I sometimes fear that I never\r\nwill feel strong any more tho the delight-\r\n-ful clear cool weather is improving me\r\nI often think of you all in that mesquite [sic]\r\nTown and wonder how my little lonely\r\nhome is getting along - I would like to have\r\nyou get two papers of Raddish [sic] seed and\r\nhave Kate plant it on the ground next\r\nto the Wilson fence West she could cut\r\ndown the Oakra [sic] there to make room\r\nfor it.  And I wish her to cut the oakra [sic]\r\ndown on the east side along the end of the Irish pota-\r\ntoe [sic] patch as the stalks will shade it\r\ntoo much and there is enough without it\r\nI would have written to some of you the last of\r\nlast week but had no paper \u0026amp; the bad weather\r\nprevented our getting any - I was then at\r\nMirandas    Now I am at Elizas\r\n---------------------------------------------------------------\r\nI suppose Joe Nations has been in Houston\r\ner’e this     Well it is a little strange that Doct\r\nPope should come to Houston - I wish I could\r\nfeel the confidence in his benefiting you \r\nthat you seem to feel in him\r\n\r\nSister Eliza was taking\r\nlast night with fever, and all day today\r\nhas been in bed  is taking medicine with \r\nthe hope of warding off a severe attack\r\n\r\nElliot keeps pretty well, has had headache\r\nsometimes from going in the hot sun\r\ntoo much and eating green Oct. peaches no-\r\ndoubt - People are generally healthy every-\r\n-where out here - I see no reason why they can\r\nbe otherwise as it is so healthy looking, dry\r\nand rolling, summery beautiful - Tell Sam\r\nto let me know whether he can come out next\r\nweek -\r\n\r\nWith kindest love to all\r\nSallies family Yourself \u0026amp; Sam - Also rem\r\nember me to Kate \u0026amp; Willie her boy\r\nAffectionately Your\r\nMother    Mary Jones\r\n---------------------------------------------------------\r\nSallie mentioned that Doct.
