The ten dollar bill came\nsafely, and today I will avail myself of\nthe pleasent weather and go down Town\nto make some purchases \u0026amp; pay some debts\nas before mentioned \u0026amp;c \u0026amp;c  I spend money\nfor nothing but absolute necessaries\nas I will know that you must be hard \nrun with Saml and me both to pro-\nvide for, beside your own expenses, \nand just over with a Campaign, which\nis as bad as a flood, \u0026amp; storm.  I appreci\n-ate your condition my dear child\nmost fully, and earnestly wish to\nbe able to relieve you  While in the \nmain time I don’t want to annoy you\nconstantly be telling you so.   Yet in\nthe fullness of the heart the mouth\nspeaketh”   I find the ground quite\nrich in the garden  and can but\n----------------------------------------------------\nthink I shall have ample reward for\nmy labor  Now I am not intending\nto supply a public market, but hope to make\na large supply of home living, very\n-fying [sic] the old adage that a penny saved\nis as good as one made \u0026amp;c \u0026amp;c.  After a little\ntime one of my big items of expense\nwill be over with, I mean wood\n\nI wrote to Saml today my last letter\nTo Baltimore.  He will be able to do some work\nhere before settling down,  as many have\nsaved a job for him.   We are having \nsuch delightful clear weather, tho rather\ncold for early gardening.  I feel more \u0026amp; \nmore pleased every day at having a home\nto myself.  I feel that it has already re-\nvived my energies, and is benefiting my\nhealth.  What if I do find myself fatigued\nby night!!  I sleep all the better for it, and\nrise in the morning conscious of feeling re-\nfreshed by a good nights sleep.  I [do not] miss\nthat constant, restless, uneasy feeling\nwhich has robed me of many nights\n---------------------------------------------------\nsweet sleep for several years past.  The \ntruth of the matter is simply this, I was not\nhappy for the reason that I could not employ \nmyself in a way that suited me.
