  • Description of this item from 2012 University of Houston Libraries exhibition, "DJ Screw and the Rise of Houston Hip Hop": Most of the songs on this screw tape, with titles like "Crooked Streets" and "Shed So Many Tears" relate to the lifestyle and pressures of drug dealing. As DJ Screw recorded the songs that were requested for a mixtape, he would mark them off with ticks.
